Sharing a Dream

Have you ever had a dream? Did you have to give it up for some reason? Maybe your family told you it was impractical. Maybe you started a family earlier than you expected. Maybe you simply didn't have the funds.

Let's face it, most dreams take a lot of time, energy, and money to pursue.

I've got some time, some energy...and very little money.

I remember hearing, years ago, about a woman who got herself into serious credit card debt, upwards of $20K. She started a website, asking strangers to donate money to her so that she could pay off her credit card debt. Kind and generous souls paid off her entire debt.

I thought to myself, "Self, if people are willing to donate money to a total stranger to pay off her credit card debt, surely some giving strangers would want to help a struggling actress/singer pursue her dream." I figured there are a lot of people out there who once had a dream, but were unable "for whatever reason" to pursue it.

I am seeking kind souls, dreamers, and benefactors who will help a dreamer achieve her dream. Hollywood is an expensive place to live, and the performing arts are an expensive career to pursue. Over the years of my struggle, I have drained my resources to achieve my dream, yet the dreamer -- and the dream -- remains. I am a typical struggling actress and willing to sacrifice for my dream, but I have reached a point where I need help, if I am to continue.

I am looking at being forced to pack up, give up my dream, and move back to my hometown. It would devastate me to give up my dream. It's all I have ever wanted, and I have already sacrificed so much. There is, literally, nothing else I have ever wanted to do, or could do, really. As far as I see it, you take my dream away, you take my life away. Performing IS my life.

I need sponsors and even $1 a month is helpful. I need donations to perfect my craft and acting lessons, voice lessons, dance lessons, martial arts, ice skating, etc. Yes, all of that -- and more -- because the more well-rounded I am, ability-wise, the more chances I have at success. And let's be honest about the industry I am in and my naturally "voluptuous" body. I also need a personal trainer, and Jenny Craig would be great, too!

Of course, there are also headshots and things like that, but those are on a more sporadic need, not a regular thing. Headshots need to be taken whenever my hair changes and if I color it, cut it, it grows longer, etc. Those expenses are "as needed."

Now, when I say I need those things, I don't mean the highest quality and most expensive lessons/photos Hollywood has to offer. For a trainer, I'd love to have "trainer to the stars," Gunnar Peterson, but even with help, he's light years away from my budget! I'm talking about your basic 24Hour Fitness trainer, as many days a week as I can manage. Financially (not quality wise) mid-range vocal coach/acting classes, group lessons for the other stuff (as opposed to the expensive private lessons). I am, by no means, trying to get money for the most expensive of everything, just the BEST BASICS.

If someone wants to donate services, that's great, too! If there is a professional, reputable photographer, acting school, vocal coach, or personal trainer in the LA area who wants to donate their services to me, as opposed to donating money to the cause, in exchange for being mentioned on this site (free publicity, yay!), I'm all for it!

How will you know where your money is going? How do you know I won't use it for a new wardrobe, a Coach purse, designer shoes (other than, perhaps, a specific outfit for a specific audition, bought at the likes of Wal-Mart!), or a trip to Tahiti for me and 5 of my closest friends? A set of ginsu steak knives when I don't even cook?
